Famous Landscape paintings and History

Landscape painting, next to portraiture, and religious painting, represents the earliest form of art. We like to paint the things around, we like to paint nature which always changes. Landscape painting and study of light in the changing light, the study of light as it passes through a tree, study of life is it strikes of the field.
Joseph Mallord William Turner (British 1775-1851)
ca.1845

Tate Gallery, London Monet's the painter everyone  thinks of when they talk of Impressionist landscapes. His impression sunrise started the Impressionist movement and gave it its name. It is a fitting landscape. Most would think of Vincent van Gogh as a painter of landscape art. When we think of modern landscape artists we think of David Hockney. When we think of landscape painting we think first of Turner in the way he captured the landscape in a misty mysterious way. Actually Turner leads to Cézanne, Georgia O'Keefe, Piet Mondrian, Roy Lichtenstein and other modern art. A modern artist that we like is David Michael Jackson. His landscape paintings can be found in two places. Art for sale original and Artvilla
